“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.”
— Anaïs Nin
ABOUT
As a critically acclaimed novelist, literary journalist, and writing coach, I have mentored writers of all ages and aspirations, nurturing their skills, encouraging their curiosity, and helping them cultivate their own unique voice.
My own writing experience began with the short stories I constructed in childhood. Since then, I have honed my skills, using plot lines and characters to explore universal human themes, from love and loss to self-discovery sprung from both joy and despair. My novel A Foolish Consistency was a first-place Chatelaine Award winner and was shortlisted for numerous other book awards, including the USA Best Book Awards, the National Indie Excellence Awards, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, and the IndieFab Book Awards.
As a literary journalist, I have written thousands of feature articles, and my work has appeared in top magazines, newspapers, and journals across the country and around the world, including The New York Times, the London Times, the Los Angeles Times, HuffPost, Elle, Self, and Glamour. Over the course of my career, I have interviewed Nobel laureates, a host of celebrities, and even the Dalai Lama. In addition, I oversaw the news division at a top research university, directing news operations and mentoring the team of writers.
There is magic in written words—in what we can do with them, where they can
take us, and the truth they can reveal.
